Failed your smog check at our Olympic Blvd station? Within 30 calendar days you get one $30 smog retest for the same vehicle: $21.75 for the test, plus the $8.25 state certificate if it passes. Bring the repaired car to 1600 W Olympic Blvd, weekdays until 7 PM or weekends, or book online.
$30 smog retest terms. One discounted retest for the same vehicle at the same station within 30 calendar days of the original paid, failed inspection. The retest is $21.75; if the vehicle passes, the $8.25 state certificate brings the total to $30. If it fails again, the retest is $21.75. A completed inspection that fails because readiness monitors are not ready counts as the retest. An inspection we abort costs nothing and does not use the retest; the 30-day window still applies. Additional retests and returns after 30 days are charged at posted regular prices. Repairs are not included.

- The repair invoice from the shop that did the work.
- Your DMV renewal notice or the documents DMV sent you. If the notice calls for a STAR station, you're in the right place; we are STAR certified.
How a retest works here
Pull in or book a slot online. We look at the earlier result, write up the retest on an estimate, and start once you approve it.
One thing can hold a retest up: incomplete readiness monitors. They reset when the battery is disconnected or replaced, or when trouble codes are cleared, which often happens during a repair. If that's the case with your car, drive it normally for a week or two and come back.
Once the car is ready, we run the inspection for its model year and give you a fresh vehicle inspection report.
If the retest doesn't pass
We're a test-only station: we do smog checks but not emissions repairs. That means no sales pitch here, just a clear read of the new report. Emissions repairs are done at a test-and-repair or repair-only station of your choice. Find a licensed repair station with BAR's Auto Shop Locator. A failed discounted retest is $21.75. After that, further retests, and any return after 30 days, are charged at posted regular prices.
Also worth a look: some emissions repairs may be covered by your manufacturer's warranty. Check your owner's manual.

You're welcome to test here, but the $30 smog retest is only for a car that failed its paid inspection at our station. A car that failed elsewhere pays the regular price listed on the coupon page.
Do I need a STAR station for the retest?
If your DMV renewal notice requires one. We are STAR certified.
Why aren't my readiness monitors ready?

Can I come after work?
Yes. We're open until 7 PM Monday through Friday.
